An English Occasion
The street party to celebrate a royal occasion is a quintessential English experience. Although the subject of monarchy is a contentious debate in the UK (and elsewhere) the street parties held across the county to celebrate a royal occasion are a spectacle for all. Patriotism, national pride, community and excuses to dress up and behave in ways one wouldn’t ordinarily get away with are all on display. This series was taken in Chester, April 2011 at a street party for the wedding of Kate and William.
